The privately owned quarry where Elba Blue and Elba Grey marble are extracted (KarMar Quarries SA) is located in the world-renowned marble bearing area of Volakas, near the Granitis area in Drama, Northern Greece, covering a total area of 82,615 sq.m.

Extraction activity started in 2012 and since then, its production capacity almost doubled, reaching 30,000 tonnes (from 15,400 tonnes), with the potential to reach 42,000 tonnes in blocks.
