Another distinction for Stone Group International!
Stone Group International was the recipient of the Silver award for Best Employee Engagement Strategy in the Τalent & Performance Management category at this year’s HR Awards.
The HR Awards
The HR Awards were organized for the fifth consecutive year in 2019 by HR Professional magazine and Boussias Communications. Their purpose is to reward human centric business initiatives and practices and highlight examples of excellence in Human Resources management. This year’s award ceremony took place on Monday, 14 October, at the Athenaeum InterContinental in Athens. Out of a record number of participants this year, awards were presented to a total of 42 companies representing a wide range of business sectors.
Stone Group International receives the Best Employee Engagement Strategy
The Τalent & Performance Management category rewards Talent Management practices and programs, while recognizing strategies geared towards increasing employee engagement.
Stone Group International received the Best Employee Engagement Strategy award for the second time in the last three years, reaffirming the company’s philosophy, which acknowledges that people are at the heart of the group’s operations. It is worth noting that this year, the nominations were more than ever, which increases the significance of this distinction.
The Best Employee Engagement Strategy at Stone Group International
Merging the “old” with the “new” and fusing our “family business” with a new “technocratic structure” were two issues immediately addressed by Stone Group International. They were also the driving force behind instituting a strategy aimed at securing the engagement of employees and strengthening their relationship of trust with the company. In the spring of 2017, the company placed a human centric approach and the family “Institution” at the core of its philosophy, while in the summer of 2018 the company’s Vision was amended to officially recognize that the Human Factor is its main tenet («…a universally reliable organization, driven by the passion of our people…”).
A series of actions and initiatives have been launched and consistently implemented in the previous two years, giving the company the opportunity to express its gratitude to each and every individual for their daily offering and their vital contribution in the implementation of the its vision. Characteristic examples of those human-centric initiatives were Family Day, Stone Seeds Day, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day etc.
Several actions and initiatives were also undertaken in the field of social involvement and contribution, including the organization of First Aid and Blood donation events, the distribution of fruits and vegetables, and participating in various charity initiatives, including running events for The Smile of the Child organization, and taking part in Pink Sail and Run With no finish.
In addition to the aforementioned initiatives, our company is implementing a new set of actions, aimed at bringing “joy and entertainment” to the workplace. These actions were launched in the spring of 2019 and are based on our firm belief in the concept that “A great place to work is one in which you trust the people you work for, have pride in what you do, and enjoy the people you work with.” (Robert Levering, Co-Founder, Great Place to Work®). These actions include the creation of a Reading Club, a Dance Club, Basketball, Football and Ping Pong teams, as well as the appointment of “Fun Manager”, with members of the Management Team alternating in the role.
The Best Employee Engagement Strategy award is a very important distinction for us. We are deeply thankful to the HR Awards organization for honoring our company. We also wish to extend our thanks to all our employees, for always implementing our activities with infinite zest and passion, clearly demonstrating that a company is only as good as its people.
